You-my-friend ?

These days Aryan is fully into the concept of friends and no friends. So if he is angry with you , he will make a sad face and say "I not your Friend" and then he would expect you to patch up.

And when I get angry , he will try to patch up by making funny faces , kissing hugging etc and asking every 2 minutes "You-my-Friend ?" , to which I would say "No" , he would reply "I your friend" and will continue his patch up till I say "Yes , I your Friend". In reply to which he will hold the corners of my lips and pull them apart and say "Smile"

It seems that this talk is going in daycare and school too. The other day I heard the maid in daycare asking him "Aryan which Aunty is friend" and he replied "Bhagya Aunty" , that was the name of the lady.

And yesterday night I was asking him about kids in school and he told me , "S said , I not your friend" , "M said I your Friend" and so on ..

So next time you visit our place , expect the question , "you-my-friend ?"

Birthday Update

I know I have been lazy with this one but better late than never. Here are the details on how we celebrated his birthday :

Celebration at school : They just allow us to send simple (non-icing) plain cake for the kids. And so we did the same. The cake would have been cut and distributed in class. Here is the update I get from him : "School mein bread (cake without icing = BREAD) kata, P Maam bread kata.Aryan Happy Birthday to you kiya, M (a girl in class) ne ulta clap kiya(followed by demo) , S ( a boy in class) ne aaise (followed by demo) clap kiya."

Celebration at day care : We reached there around 5 pm with cake and birthday caps. Prince Charming was all excited to see us , felt shy to be the centre of attraction. The kids patiently waited for cake to be arranged. The cake was cut , served and sweets distributed and we came home.

Celebration at home : Aryan's dadi instructed on phone to make poori and kheer for Aryan on his birthday and so it was done. Aryan was too happy after all the attention , happily had all the yummy food without a fuss.

Party on weekend : On 25th we planned a kiddy kinds birthday party with Aryan's cousins and his close friends from daycare. The theme was thought to be pooh for Aryan LOVES Pooh. Party was in the apartment's function hall. It was tough to explain Aryan that we were preparing for HIS birthday party , since it was actually first party we organized. He thought we are getting ready for X or Y's birthday party. Finally we reached the hall with the stuff , did some basic decoration. Aryan swamped the cake and licked his fingers a little as he was way too excited to see a BIG POOH cake. Guests arrived. And finally our son started believing that it was all for him. He played like mad and was sweating before the cake was cut :D

Like I told it was the first party that I organized and so my inexperience did show at so many places like I forgot to make popcorns , distribute caps , open party popper , burst the centre balloon etc etc. Thankfully the kids were prompt to ask and collect their return gifts :D

In all ,inspite of all my forgetfullness the party was enjoyable atleast to the kids :)

When I asked Aryan later , "Maza aaya" the reply was , "Yes , gym (the party hall has gym next to it :P) mein bahut maza aaya"

For the records , on the menu was :
A pooh Cake , Samosas , Sandwiches ,Pizza , Ice cream , Soft drinks , Cookies & Chips AND OFCOURSE POPCORNS THAT WERE NEVER SERVED :P

And below is my naive attempt to design his birthday invite :

(Details hidden)

I do not have many blogworthy pics (I forgot to click :P), but regular readers can mail me if you wish to see.

Another Woman in his Life :-(

Yesterday I was shopping and I showed him 2 colours of a top and asked , "Aryan kaun sa acha hai" , expecting him to tell me , which colour does he like better.

Pat I got the reply , "Mumma A (his GIRL friend's name) jaisa pehno".

Poor me , I did not know I should laugh or cry. My son already has another woman in his life and she is already competing with me. GRRR :-O

Kya Yehi Pyar Hai ...

In Aryan's daycare there is a little girl A. She lives in our apartment only. I always knew that they are friends but now , I am not sure if its just plane friendship ;-)

They both start jumping looking at each other. In the morning and also in the evening at the park. A usually goes to the park every day since her father works from home and is able to pick her in day light. We try to take Aryan to park whenever we can. So whenever we come early , we just dump bags and run for park.

Earlier I used to change Aryan's dress / sandals to shoes but now he does not have patience for that too. If I ask him to change he would tell me , "dress gili hai" meaning all the dresses are wet and so nothing to change :-P

There are days when we run to reach the park only to find that A is not there. On those days I try to encourage him to play with other kids But witness his reactions on few of such days.

Day 1 : After 5-10 minutes of waiting and loitering around , he stands tall on the top of the slide to see as far as possible and says with a sad face "A nahi aayi"
Day 2: Very excited to play with A , disappointed to not to find her , cries and comes back home.
Day 3 : A is not in play area, "Mumma no jhula, Gumma, lets go" , meaning lets walk around to see if A is playing somewhere else in the campus.
Day 4 : " After 15 minutes of waiting , "Papa lets go Ghar, mosquitoes"

And some incidents as told by day care teacher.

Incident 1 : Aryan and V (a boy) fought and so the teacher made them sit far for few minutes. A comes hold one hand of both of them and all the three start dancing.
Incident 2 : Aryan told A that V has hit him. A goes and hits V left and right. Comes back and Aryan and A play happily together.

And you know exchanging hearts is so old fashioned , these days its different.

Yesterday night in bed , Aryan holds his feet in hands and says "A ka hai" (this is A's feet), so I asked , ok where is yours and he says "A paas" (Thats with A).

He also insisted to call A to sleep with all of us yesterday but understood when I told him that A likes to sleep with her mom just like you do.

Now after reading all this , what do you say ?

Aryan meets Anirudh

Aryan gets to meet Anirudh in his Mama's wedding and they had a blast. Anirudh acted like a BIG BROTHER , feeding Aryan with ice cream. They both played a lot with the rope which tied two pillars of the tent.It was so much fun , seeing them playing together.

Smiling and Social

Sometime back I did a post on how Aryan tried to make a friend. But thats not all , its not just the kids, he is a true social bee.

Take a look :

1. While travelling in car , he would try every trick to attract the biker on a red light. If no biker is available , he would even try to attract the people in nearby cars. And his smile works atleast once a day :)

2. Few days back, standing in the billing queue at a grocery shop , he was smiling and staring at a foriegner behind us. The lady had no idea of what was going on and was chatting with someone else. He did not give in , till she looked at him and went all crazy about his smile. They shared flying kisses when we left :D

3. Last week he was not well and he took him to hospital , twice a week. He had bad cough and was weak. But the doctor and junior doctor thought we are fools to bring him to hospital. He did not even cough once in 1 hour. He was smiling all the time. When doctor wanted to see his throat , he showed his teeth. While leaving the doctor told me that he is such a "SMILING BABY". I was telling the junior doctor that he forgets all cough when he comes to hospital , who in turn told me , please leave him here and we will take care of him :P

4. Yesterday evening I was taking a walk with him. He grabbed the attention of another old lady who was taking a walk. When she started talking to him , he offered her to take him in her lap. And then he was happily smiling at me from her lap :P

Friends at first sight..:)

Last Sunday(10th June) we went Fab India. While mummy(MIL) and I were busy looking at the garments , I realized that Anupam was talking to someone. When I turned back I realized that Aryan was trying to make friends with a baby girl (probably Aryan's age) ,who was in her father's lap.She was not in a good mood and was quite sleepy and so did not even smiled back. Anupam and the other father was amused at the kids and were doing a casual chit chat.Soon Aryan realised that the effort is of no use.The the girl slept and her parents moved to another section of the store.

After about 15 mins , I heard a baby crying and Anupam was laughing.I was a little surprised and looked at Anupam. He told me that the baby(same age again) is crying because he does not want to go away.Aryan and the baby boy had become friends. I saw that both Aryan and Sidharth Arya(the other kid) were chatting in some foriegn language. They were loud enough to catch the attention of all the other people around. They were literally jumping from our laps to hug each other. I took him close to Sidharth Arya and they both held hands.I tried to move away and now it was Aryan's turn to cry. He did not want to leave. It was so amusing for all the four parents. Our son made his first friend and it was friendship at first sight..:)
